Monday Messages Guide

Monday Messages are sent to all emeriti, tenured, tenure track and RTE faculty. (all academic titleholders are listed here,)

A small group of administrators also receive the Monday Messages.

Monday Messages from the Office of the Dean of Faculty are:

  • A simple approach to keeping the faculty informed about university-wide information.
  • An attempt to prevent faculty from being further overwhelmed with emails.

Monday Messages are used for regular Dean of Faculty business such as:

  • Announcements that relate to university lectures and the Faculty Senate.
  • Classroom-related reminders that deal with semester start, breaks, and wrap-up.
  • Events that address campus climate issues.

  1. Submit items for inclusion at least one week in advance to deanoffaculty@cornell.edu.
  2. Item should be limited to one or two sentences.
  3. Include hyperlinks to online resources within messages, for readers who require more information.
  4. Provide clear time and location information, as appropriate.

Events/documents that have broad audience appeal and speak to faculty matters or concerns.
